Their announcement and the song goes, “We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun, but the hills that we climbed, were just season out of time,”. And that is exactly what bFlat has been, in over 10 years of its existence. Most Bangaloreans will remember it as the place that had the best gigs in town, before offbeat gigs were even a thing. It’s been the home for many a city-bred musician, and it’s been the launch pad for bands we have now know and love. Those Thermal & A Quarter nights, Best Kept Secret and their brilliant pop rock, Mad Orange Fireworks killing it with their tunes, Kanan Gill making you laugh and giggle, Lagori and Girish And The Chronicle wowing you, Mud Road with their covers, and then there’s the whole gamut of international artistes which we would never have seen, had it not been for the fine folks of bFlat. Oh, and those brilliant tribute nights! For some those nights are as close as we’ll ever get to hearing Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Black Sabbath, Pearl Jam and Simon & Garfunkel, live!

Unfortunately though, even something as wonderful, local and even sacred, as bFlat has not been able to ride the wave of the blanket ban on live music. We’ll always wonder why and how it came to this. So, go drink a beer, order chicken tikka, and make sure you get your final fill of bFlat, as we know it. The curtains come down on October 2, 2019, so you’ve got just about 10 days, to make up for 10 glorious years. Say your temporary goodbyes, as we believe, and our hope is that this isn’t the end of this fine institution. Until then, bFlat, thank you for the music, the songs I’m singing. Thanks for all the joy they're bringing. Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty. What would life be? Without a song or a dance what are we? So I say thank you for the music, for giving it to me.
