If you are wondering what exactly a Bhojo Hori Manna is, well guys, it is an iconic Bengali song sung by the late Manna Dey for a film and talks about an ace cook who travels to many places gathering culinary knowledge. Sounds fitting right? While the Kolkata ones are super popular and iconic and this recommender always makes it a point to visit the restaurant on any trip, the Koramangala one is equally popular. But I have found the food to be a bit of a hit and miss sometimes. You will have to book in advance during Bengali festival times like Poila Boishakh or Durga Puja, because there are actual queues outside the restaurant.

While the eatery offers the regular Bengali dishes such as aloo poshto, chanar dalna {cottage cheese dumplings dunked in a sweetish gravy} and mochar ghonto {banana flowers cooked in a dry kind of preparation, do pay attention to their Specials section that offers the not so usual Poshtor Boda {fritters made out of poppy seed paste}, Chhachra {fish head cooked with vegetables}, and Rui Macher Dimer Boda {fritters made out of fish roe}. We love the Koraishutir Kochuri {a kachouri stuffed with green peas}, but you should probably have it when it is in season — winter. They also do a Jumbo Ilish Biryani {hilsa turned into a biryani}, a Mutton Goalondo Steamer Curry {a curry that takes inspiration from Bangladesh} and Mutton Dakbangla with egg {a legacy of the Raaj}.

Vegetarians, you won’t feel left out because there is a big section in the menu that caters to you and offers everything from Dhokar Dalna {lentil squares cooked in a curry} to Echorer Kalia {a green jackfruit curry cooked like meat}. For those who love their fish and meat, the possibilities are just endless and Bhojo Hori also does mini, jumbo and super jumbo versions of fish {that’s their speciality}.

Dessert here is standard, but you will find all your roshogollas, mishti doi and notun gurer {palm jaggery infused} ice cream to give your meal a fitting end.

The prices here are pretty reasonable and the menu chocies are vast, and if you live in Koramangala, then this is where you need to head to if you are craving a big, fat bong meal.
