Patrons of the performing arts, go check out Black Lotus, an interpretive dance music theatre performance that also incorporates text and speech by the Martiya Dance Community. Choreographed by Kavya Viswanathan, the performance will have dance, drama, music from instruments being played on stage, and narration as well. The flow is largely abstract, but will feature scenes and situations inspired by real life events from the performers’ lives, and aim to evoke the same feelings and emotions from the audience, with everything being open to interpretation of course. The accompanying music comprises of their own pieces and involves the Kalimba, jembe, flute, harmonica, and ukulele among others, as well as spoken narration.
