Bonhomia is targeted towards the burgeoning group of Nespresso machine owners all over the world. They sent over their coffee machine and pods—and here’s what our experience was like.

What a Wonderful Surprise

As a crew that works a lot in an office, a good coffee machine is mostly all it takes for us to make it from one day to the next. And that consumption of coffee in itself has honed a basic understanding of what good coffee ought to taste like—we’ve pretty much learnt that instant coffee is garbage, so it’s heartening to see an increasing number of local coffee makers and cafes switching to making good Indian coffee.

Brought to stores after two intensive years of R&D, Bonhomia brings aromatic and beautifully blended coffee, in a convenient format. For the uninitiated {as we were}, this wonder coffee-maker is a worthy investment for any regular consumer of coffee. Bonhomia did us a good one and sent over their Bonhomia Boho with a selection of Vanilla, Hazelnut and Dark Deeds coffee pods {100 per cent gourmet coffee with no additives}.

Nespresso Machine, What?

All we did is plug in a Nespresso capsule, press a button, and you have a shot of espresso ready for you. The base model starts at about INR 10,000, and more expensive variations can go up to INR 50,000.

We would highly recommend the machine to anyone who drinks coffee on a daily basis, gives two cents about how their coffee is made, but doesn’t necessarily have the time to stand in a line, or brew coffee in a Bialetti, percolator or Moka pot. Think of it as really really good coffee, made instantly.

Nifty, Thrifty and Fine

Some of us found the coffee to be smooth, well rounded and balanced—it wasn’t too fruity, or too spicy. Others found the coffee to be on the slightly weaker side. We loved the Hazelnut flavour with its nutty tones. We are also looking forward to trying their Green and Black tea capsules {they work with the same machine!}.

We also recommend you sign up for a coffee pod subscription, since they can be used with other machines too. You can find them at online stores {Amazon, Flipkart, Shopify and more}, and in standalone stores as well.
