What Makes It Awesome

Adding to the collection of second-hand bookstores (you know the ones) on Church Street is Book Home, a new second-hand bookstore that's opened up in the same space where the old Bookworm used to be. And of course, we dropped by and got tempted and browsed through their growing collection (they opened just a few months ago) of used and new books. We like that there's a lot more space for you to move around and browse even if it got a bit crowded. The collection of books is across every genre and category -- fiction to non-fiction, science to astrology, cooking to self-help, romance to thriller, children's literature to classics, and everything in between.

We spotted new books such as Manu S Pillai's False Allies along with several new editions of Frank Herbert's Dune trilogy. Shelves aren't spilling out with books, so browsing is a lot easier without the fear of books falling on you. The cooking section, which we spent a considerable amount of time on, while isn't the most extensive we did find interesting options such as easy recipe books for people who can't really cook and lots of vegetarian recipe books. The children's section on the first floor is filled with all sorts of literature, activity books, and comics. We spotted plenty of Tinkle and Archies. If you love collecting books with library binding, the classic section has plenty of those.

New books are not sold at any discount, but you can get plenty of the seconds for a steal. Some start as low as INR 100.

Pro-Tip

Carry a bag if you are picking up plenty of books.
