Ever since Churrascaria Brazil which used to be in Kalyan Nagar shut down, there's been a space for Brazilian food in Bangalore. But all that's changed now that Boteco - Restaurante Brasileiro, touted to be India's first Brazilian restaurant when it first opened in Pune, is now open. The restaurant's first outlet in Bangalore (it's located bang opposite Garuda Mall) brings the best of Brazilian food—there's Churrasqueira (their take on the churrascaria which is Brazilian BBQ) and is a meaty affair we can't wait to dig in. We hear Linguiça com Mandioca is on the menu as well—it's a dish with seasoned pork sausages with cassava fries. For the drinks, there's the Brazilian national drink, the Caipirinha made with imported Brazilian Cachaça or sugarcane liquor, and lime and sugar.

The 100-seater space channels the boteco (Portuguese for neighbourhood bars) vibes and aesthetics. Obviously, the mosaic mural outside which features very Brazilian themes—Christ The Redeemer, the Brazilian flag, toucans, and samba guitar—is a major photo-op spot but we love the colourful interiors and the towering arches. There's a lot of artwork depicting Brazilian and Amazonian locales while the space is dotted with tropical plants as well.
