Shortcut

A haven for backpackers and travellers with their elegantly designed rooms, Golden Lotus is a slice of peace right in the middle of the busy CBD {it’s right on MG Road}. And the good thing is that for a room with two queen size beds and an AC, you pay only INR 3,000.

Striking Gold

Located right in the heart of Bangalore, The Golden Lotus is like a hibernation zone, amidst all the chaos of the city. The perfect amalgamation of the old and the new, with modern architecture and an old-world style of interiors, this hotel is just about 500 meters away from Brigade Road and a kilometer away from Commercial Street. The entrance is like a door into the past and it has a rooftop area where you can relax and take in the sights of the city. Expect plenty of artwork along the walls, low hung chandeliers, stained glass windows and accents in the bathrooms and bedrooms.

If you use the glass elevator once, you won’t stop because you get a superb view of the city. Paintings on the wall, antique-esque statues of all sizes and there’s an old, beat up piano that has now been reduced to a showpiece on the terrace. Free WiFi and cable TV are a given.

What To Expect

The hotel has rooms that are air conditioned or not, with a choice of a room with a queen size bed or family rooms, housing four people. The family rooms have two queen beds and you can also stay here with three other people, the room can totally accommodate four people. All rooms come with attached bathrooms and basic facilities including linen, plug points and a reading lamp next to each one. A standard family room costs around INR 3,000. Breakfast here is complimentary and included in the package, and you can chill in their cafe too, for some relaxation and grub.
