Sneakerheads Unite

Just next to Masjid E Khadria on Millers Road is the Branded Footwear Sale, a Ramadan export surplus fare by the same folks behind Branded Footwear in Thippasandra. Being sneakerheads ourselves, popped by the fare and was welcomed by a massive space filled with footwear of all kinds neatly arranged on tables. There’s a bit of organisation going around at the fare with the space divided between formal shoes, casual wear such as loafers and boat shoes, boots, and sneakers and sports shoes.

Brands such as Nike, Adidas, Puma, Converse, Reebok, and even Lotto as well as many in-house brands of Myntra such as Roadster are what we spotted in the casual and sports section. Brands such as Clarks, Timberland, Woodland, Hush Puppies, and Caterpillar were spotted amongst the formal and boots section. Vassim, the owner, tells us that the sale is on until Sunday, June 17 and they are offering up to 70 percent discount on all the footwear. To put that into a range, we spotted shoes starting at as low as INR 999.

What To Wear?

Oh, plenty we tell you! We had a tough time at the formal shoes and casual wear section. It really is hard to pick from Oxfords, winged tips, round tips, and monkstraps when you are going for that sharp look. Most of these formal shoes are either Clarks or Hush Puppies, although we spotted a few Ted Bakers hidden away in the pile. There’s enough of formal footwear for you to last a lifetime. Or multiple boardroom meetings. These shoes come in regular blacks and browns as well as interesting shades of blue, tan, and even dark greens.

Fans of boots, Chelsea and otherwise, will find there’s a big collection. We spotted a lot of trekking boots and combat boots from Timberland and Woodland. Loafers, moccasins, boat shoes, and slip ons are mostly from unknown brands. The sneaker section is where you will find the next best loot that you can score. There’s an entire collection of Converse high-tops and low-tops to start with followed by trainers, basketball shoes, and skateboarding shoes from Adidas and Nike. We spotted Gazelles and Superstars from Adidas amongst the collection too!
