There’s something brewing at the Chikkaballapur district tourism council office. Plans are afoot to introduce two cable car lines that will zip visitors from the foothills of Nandi Hills to the top. Supposedly a dream project of the late Kannada actor — Shankar Nag — the plans floundered after his tragic accident. But now, long lines of cars and bikes clogging the hills’ roads have caused the local tourism board to have a rethink. An initial feasibility report will be submitted soon and then a decision will made after that. If plans go through, you can expect a fun cable car ride that will not just take you up the hills but will also offer sweeping views of the breathtaking scenery.
