Carbonara, Books And Beautiful Decor: Check Out The New Cafe Five One Five In Indiranagar

If you live or work around the area, Cafe Five One Five is the perfect spot to hit up and read a book, get some work done, or just chow down on some tasty, healthy food!

This small neighbourhood cafe is located on the corner of 515 Colony in Indiranagar, and has a cool hipster vibe to it without going overboard. The interiors are made of wood, giving the place a homely but modern vibe, with lovely lighting and comfy cushions — it’s what Pinterest dreams are made of! They also have a wall with a small selection of books and comics. However, When we visited, it was unfortunately a little noisy, but they’re in the process of fitting in a door to block all the annoying traffic.

We decided to start with a watermelon juice, which was super fresh. We were also quite hungry, so we ordered two salads and two pastas to share between us. The Remoulade Bacon Salad was crispy and crunchy thanks to the fried bacon and fresh lettuce, perfectly balanced by the oh-so creamy dressing with capers, dill and lemon. We weren’t big fans of the Honeybeet, consisting of too chunky beetroots drizzled with cinnamon-infused honey. The only saving grace — bits of feta cheese.

The pastas were by far our favourite, especially the pesto! Blended with dried chillies, parmesan cheese and cream, the pasta had a nice smokey flavour to it and was just the right level of spicy. They even added in some grilled zucchini, broccoli and bell peppers. The Carbonara was also well made — creamy without being overwhelming, and Cafe Five One Five was extremely generous with the bacon as well!

This cafe is a great place to sit and chill out, as the staff isn’t in any hurry to make you leave. The portions are also generous and reasonably priced, and came quickly and were impeccably made!

Cafe Five One Five is planning on starting a book exchange program soon. They’ve also added some classic board games so there’s plenty to do!
