The minimalist space is dotted with greens and there's WIFI on the house that makes it a beehive for hustlers and work-from-cafe hoppers. Coffee is available in different pours, the food is vegetarian and vegan, and you can't miss out on the Viennoiserie.

The first-of-its-kind Malaysian coffee shop, Kopitiam Lah on Indiranagar 12th Main opens for breakfast serving up Malaysian breakfast staples, bakes, and kopi. At lunchtime, there's a full-fledged Malaysian spread to dig into, all while you are catching up with your friend. The space is perfect for even solo dates and you can come with your book to catch up on some reading while you sip on the kopi or dig into the bakes.

Designed much like an old Kerala house, you'll love Dyu Art Cafe's space. There is an open courtyard, a gabled roof, red oxide flooring, and cemented seats, all adding to the quaint charm of the cafe. They also have a mini gallery that showcases artwork from various artists. The food is largely cafe food with their coffee and bakery section getting our thumbs up. Here you'll find couples on dates, folks working on their laptop, friends catching up and even solo diners enjoying their books or picking up something to read from the cafe's bookshelf.

Nestled amidst greenery at Queen's Road, Champaca is a bookstore and a cafe. So the vibe is peaceful, green, and the food is simple and easy. With an earthy vibe, overlooking the lush residential lanes outside and an avocado tree right in the middle, it feels like time stops still for a while when you're in there. You can come here with your laptop and catch up on work or just about browse through the book collection, buy a few, and start reading from the cafe itself. They also have a children's corner.

We're calling dibs on the outdoors though, because it's downright gorgeous, especially after a rain. Imagine dining under a canopy, reading a book, and enjoying Bangalore's nippy weather while you chow on some delicious vegetarian food (with Jain options too). We recommend their pizzas.

Smack in the centre of the city, on Cunningham Road, Trippy Goat keeps it simple in a grand old bungalow. Remember Hatworks Boulevard and the little cottage beside it? Well, that's Trippy Goat for you. They have an alfresco section under the trees, an outdoor but covered space ideal to watch the rain from, and an inside too which is airy thanks to the massive windows. Get the cold coffee here; it's old school, strong and made with vanilla ice cream and not just loads of ice. They have wine and sourdough pizza on the menu, and regular events are hosted here.

They have a beautiful Japandi aesthetic, a conference room and is designed to be a hybrid superlative cafe. It's perfect for a quick coffee, to catch up with a friend, or to work out when WFH (or office). Their menu features quiches, pasta, and everything in between. Plus, they brew a good cup of coffee with pours of your choice.

Muru Muru in Indiranagar does desi bites and coffee along with an ambience that's straight-up reminiscent of those old-school houses. You can head here to work — they have outdoor seating that's also perfect to just chill with your chaat and coffee and vibe. That's where Perch comes in — they offer coffee, wine and food that hits the spot with its global-inspired flavours. They have "outdoor" seating with high tables and a coffee bar — it makes for a great spot to sit down with your shopping bags and sip on some single-origin coffee from Ethiopia to El Salvador. Al fresco dining, brick oven pizza, board games, fresh bakes, and plenty of brews — all the things we love at Roastea. The Koramangala cafe is a good spot to come with the gang or on dates and have a good time. The menu is all vegetarian with a few egg options, and their coffee and tea programme is pretty extensive. Enough to keep the energy up while you are catching up or enjoying the conversation with your date in the open-air ambience.
