What Makes It Awesome

Is there fungus in your 18-55mm lens? Think the auto-focus is a bit off? Well, the good folks at Mata Electronics will have your DSLR serviced quickly and at pocket-friendly prices. In the bustling lanes of SP Road, known for its electronics repair wizardry, is Mata Electronics, an authorised dealer that works with Sony, Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, Olympus, Samsung, and Kodak cameras. This camera repair and servicing shop will fix up your precious camera, be it DSLR or the good old point-and-shoot, without a fuss. It’s a tiny shop mind you, so you’ll have to wait for your turn. If it’s basic service that you are looking for, that is just getting the lens and body cleaned, it’s INR 1,000 per device. In case your lens has fungus, it’s INR 450 extra for a basic clean up. Depending on the level of fungus, it can go higher from the base rate.

If you’re wondering about how authentic they are, then this is all first-hand information. The writer took his rain-damaged Nikon D5100 to them since these guys are authorised dealers (and not a company service centre). Bear in mind, the camera was out of warranty, so the Nikon service centre was charging a bomb. After a day’s inspection and explaining the seriousness of the damage, the camera was repaired and working as good as new in three days. These guys have eight pick up and delivery points across the city and they are at Domlur, Old Airport Road, Seshadripuram, Mathikere, Basveshwarnagar, Banaswadi, BTM, and the physical store at SP Road.

Pro-Tip

Other service repairs depend on the parts and the seriousness of the damage. But don’t worry, these guys will call you beforehand and take you through the whole damage history and suggest options. Only after your approval would they proceed with the repairs. The service time is usually two days and they do provide with pick up and delivery as well for a mere INR 100.
