Shortcut

If you are looking for a cheap and cheerful getaway to Gokarna, then look no further than Campme Halfway Home. Expect tented accommodation, prayer flags, fairy lights and friends for life.

What Makes It Awesome

Surrounded by plenty of greenery and located on the Kudle hilltop, Halfway Home is a campsite with tents pitched on an elevated platform. Spread around a mango tree, the tents come with basic amenities such as a comfortable bed, clean sheets, towels, and plug points to charge your devices. If you are expecting to glamp, then you are in the wrong place, because this is all about kicking back to the basics. The bathrooms and toilets are shared and are kept clean throughout the day. There are no luxuries but what you can expect is to wake up to birdsong and fall asleep under the stars. The olive green tents are hardy and can withstand the vagaries of the weather. Plus, each of them come with a cool sit out too. Prayer flags and fairy lights brighten up the space. An in house vegetarian and organic (they claim) restaurant will take care of meal times.

When you are not in your tent reading your favourite Jim Corbett book or just ruminating about life, there’s plenty to do at camp Halfway Home. For starters, you can borrow more page turners from the in house library or even challenge a co camper to a round of boardgames. You can even try your hand at slacklining or play a game or two with other guests at the Fusbol table. Bonfires can be arranged under the starry night sky, and you can also expect live music on certain days. Campme Halfway Home will also organise guided treks around Gokarna on request. And all of this is under INR 1,300 a night.

Pro-Tip

This campsite is not ideal for family holidays or kids. It is not a pet friendly zone either.
