Shortcut

Fancy a walk in the clouds surrounded by the undeniable beauty of the Western Ghats? Then, the gorgeous Canopy Walk near Castle Rock needs to be on your travel bucket list.

Tree Tourism

A joint project by the State’s tourism and forest departments, the Kuveshi Canopy, that sits near the Karnataka-Goa border, has created a buzz among wildlife and nature enthusiasts. Inaugurated in late February, the Kuveshi Canopy is still getting final touches and should be open to the public soon. So, in the next few months, if you are planning to hit up Dandeli or Dudhsagar or even South Goa, don’t miss this experience!

Said to be India’s first canopy walk, the Kuveshi canopy is about 30 feet high and around 240 meters long. On your trip here, you can accompany 10 other people {that’s the maximum for a single trip} and explore the lush greenery of the Western Ghats.

Tropic Thunder

The canopy presents you with an excellent opportunity to get a bird’s eye view of one of the country’s best known tropical rainforests. You’ll be enveloped by towering Malabar Tamarinds, Silver Oaks, Eucalyptuses, bamboos, and teak wood trees. The tree tops are also abundant with avian life and creatures of the forest. You can spot species like the Malabar squirrels, lion-tailed macaque, white-bellied treepie, hornbills, woodpeckers and butterflies.

Stay tuned for more!
