Celebrating Shivani

What's Happening?

If you are looking for inspiration in the form of poetry and illustrations, then mark your calendar for June 19, 2022 and head to Bangalore International Centre (BIC) for an exhibition of art by Shivani Gakhar, ‘Celebrating Shivani’. Not only will you get a glimpse into her curated selection of illustrations, but you can also check out her book, which is being launched at the event. Read more about Launch Of Doodle Mind here. Spanning more than 13 years, the art showcases beauty and wonder in the simplest of things, while the book documents her journey, after she was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 32, in 2015. It was a journey of self discovery that led her to express herself through art and poetry. Both the art and the poetry explore themes like nature, fear, insecurities as well as cancer, depression and self love. Somewhere, it will strike a chord. Since it is a fundraising event, go with an open heart, as all the proceeds from this exhibition will be donated to the Holla Breast Center Foundation. Another highlight of the event will be a live performance by artist Anand Bhaskar, who will be paying tribute to his childhood friend, Shivani.
