What Makes It Awesome

If you don't like wearing sarees, think again. You can’t say no to these silk beauties. Apart from the gorgeous pure Kanjivarams that range from the softer Mandanila silks to the elegant Valli Muhurtham collection that will be perfect for a bride (think deep red and rich purples), there is so much on offer. We also love the muted shades of lime green, beige and gold, with traditional paisley or floral prints. We’re eyeing the alternating red, black and gold zari checks with a cream korvai border with animal and geometric motifs.

Get ready to swipe your credit card on their collective — Ahiri. Weaving in (literally) the most popular techniques and motifs, this one has jacquard patterns on the silk, with motifs in gold zari. It’s that fine balance of traditional meets trendy, and it’s ideal to make heads turn at the next wedding. We are tripping on the fact that most of the collection is double coloured, and the pallu is a complete contrast to the rest of the sari. With prices starting at INR 5,000, we definitely think it's worth the investment.

Pro-Tip

Ladies, they have a special section, dedicated to blouses too. They have lovely blouse fabric lengths in silks, tussores and cottons, embellished with hand block prints, beautiful weaves and motifs, sumptuous brocades and figured kalamakaris. We sometimes buy these for dress shirts as well to pair with pencil trousers. If you buy neutral colours, you can happily mix and match with other sarees and lehengas too!

Covid-19 Update: The Kanakavalli store at Langford Road is now open for in-store shopping with all sanitisation and social distancing measures in place. You can also shop off their website that ships across the country.
