The Heat Is On: Chettinad Restaurants In Koramangala That Will Set Your Mouth On Fire

The information in this post might be outdated

Chettinad cuisine is not for the faint-hearted. The cuisine consists of a variety of spices that will put spice shops to shame. And of course, every other spicy but delicious dish you see in the menu is non-vegetarian. There’s a lot of emphasis on chicken, mutton, and fish. If you live or work in Koramangala, you’ll be happy to know that it’s home to some of the best Chettinad restaurants in town. In this list, I run you through the best of the lot and the places that’ll leave you sweating, panting, and gulping down bottles of water.

There’s no a la carte here. It’s all buffet {starting from INR 650}, so be sure to have an appetite when you drop in for lunch or dinner. The menu consists of everything from Kerala, Karnataka, Chettinad, and Andhra Pradesh, so you will have a mix of everything nice and spicy. The menu is ever-changing, but the last I visited the placed, they had some amazing starters like Rasam Wings and Chicken Peanut Roast. They also do home delivery in Koramangala, you might want to check out Swiggy or Zomato for that.

Before I begin, let me tell you this is not really a place for a vegetarian. Now, if you are soup person like me, you can order the Nattu Koli Rasam {Country Chicken Clear Soup} or the Chettinad Nandu {Crab} Rasam. Piping hot and delicious, both these soups set the tone for your meal. For starters, you can go for the Anjappar Fried Chicken and for mains, try Chettinadu Chicken Roast, Pepper Chicken Dry, and Chettinadu Fish Masala. I’m not a fan of biryani {stop with the looks already} but I’d make an exception for the Nattu Kozhi {Country Chicken} Biryani.

This is HSR, but with folks skipping from one neighbourhood to the other, we’re including this one too. Chettinad Chicken is a must have, as is the Chettinad Kara Kuzhambu — a rich gravy with spice level to practically launch you into space! Naturally, you must mop it up with either Chettinadu dosa or good old idiyappams.

LBBTip

Please do not wear white when you are hitting these places. The stains can never be removed. NEVER.
