What Makes It Awesome

If you’re looking for edgy but not over the top outfits, in recycled cottons, hit up Chola, The Label, a brand that was originally an experiment! We're tripping on the quirky cuts and funky separates. Founded by Sohara Misra, Chola was first an exhibition brand, and since has turned into an apparel brand that is known for relaxed silhouettes with plenty of layering. We also love that each collection tells a story that is fun and quirky, just like the outfits. The website is easy to navigate with categories starkly marked out. We love the dresses -- not just any old dresses you see! Our current favourite(s) are the two-piece shirt dress with straight sleeves and button placket on the sides, front and back, and the high collar racer back monochrome dress that is uneven, and features pockets and piping! We’re getting some chic Tim Burton feels here.

The shirts and jumpsuits will make sure you stand out in a crowd, with detachable sleeves, frill collar crop tops, and deconstructed dhoti pinafores (no, really, it’s got pinafore straps and dhoti-style trousers). It’s anything but ordinary. If mixing and matching is your thing, you can have a field day with their separates that are super versatile. Pair funky trousers and tops, or tone it down with one piece that’s edgy and another that’s relative sober. Oh, and did we mention that the brand also has soul in that they use recycled fabrics created out of post-consumer waste. Minimal wastage, zany designs, and relaxed silhouettes? Sign us up, immediately!

What Could Be Better

Not better, but bear in mind that prices are on the high side. But for what you’re getting, it’ll be well worth it. Can’t put a price on unique eh?

Pro-Tip

You could stick to their own outfit pairings seen on the website. It might be tough to mix and match these quirky pieces otherwise. Also, they retails at couture stores such as Ogaan, Ensemble, Atosa, Elahe and Verandah among others, in case you want to see before you buy.
