Get that Dhaba feel, right here in Kalyan Nagar with Chulha Chauki Da Dhaba, complete with its cane tables, seats and hearty Punjabi food.

Chak De Phatte!

Chulha Chauki Da Dhaba is located on the Hennur main road, and walking in is quite the change of scenery if we might say. Split between an indoor seating area and an al fresco space as well, it almost feels like you’re on a road trip, up north and have stopped at a roadside dhaba for a quick meal. Amidst the stone and brick walls are partitions of bamboo and cane stools and charpais substituting tables don the entire restaurant. The charpais even have a black plank in the middle, so you can sit on either side, cross your legs and get the true dhaba experience. You’ve got an open{ish} kitchen, with skewers of kababs hanging over the tandoor, sizzling and waiting to be devoured. There’s even a paan bhandar to complete the all-round dhaba feel!

Roti-Shoti, Tikkey-Shikkey!

The food here is North Indian mixed with some Chinese starters in vegetarian and chicken options. The food is served in steel plates, as you would get in any dhaba around the country. The portions are a bit smaller, though and so you might have to order a little extra, that means spending a little more too, and as much as they’ve tried to make the place resemble a dhaba, the prices don’t agree with the dhaba culture and are a bit high. They’ve got a load of kebabs, gravies and tandoor items on the menu, as well as some lassi and chaach. There’s also an option of a fried egg, topped with chilli powder, salt and pepper that just deserves a mention. The staff is courteous and quick. Another shout out goes to the chicken tikka, with those burnt bits which are a crisp contrast to the sweet, melt-in-your-mouth meat. So we’re saying, come here and experience it for yourself! You can only come here around the evening because they open at 7 pm and close at 10.30 pm, so dinner it is, then?
