What Makes It Awesome

It's undeniable that we love a good pair of sneakers and we're always looking to strut around wearing the freshest kicks. So when we came across an Instagram ad featuring a pair of mango-coloured sneakers from Comet, we were intrigued. First, the name Comet. Second, the fact that the sneakers looked so good. After a little digging around, we discovered that Comet is a Bangalore-based homegrown sneaker brand (turns out the writer's home and the brand's head office is in Koramangala) and they do pretty dope unisex sneakers. Plus, laces! Love ourselves some laces to always mix and match for our shoes.

It's not just the cool colourways and design that caught our eye. In true form-meets-functionality fashion, these sneakers feature a three-layer sole system for maximum comfort—Comet calls the technology Spacewalk and we love how the outsole is zero-slip so you don't trip and fall even when you're standing (oh you know what we are talking about). Plus, we have wide feet, so the open lacing system and the derby design work well for us. And not to mention, since we're always wearing shoes everywhere, the fine mesh lining and the microfiber backing make it comfy and breathable.

The website currently has 10 colourways of their low-tops and four colourways of their high-tops. Plus, they also do sneaker drops, with the latest being Jugnu, a limited-release sneaker (there's only going to be 300 pairs!) that's inspired by the firefly. But the best part? Glow in the dark elements! The heel, the Comet logo, and the laces all glow in the dark! Low-key wishing that we had waited for the drop instead of ordering the Comet X Lows Sky pair. But also, we realised there's nothing stopping us from buying another pair.

Price: Starting at INR 4,299.
