Delivery Service Cookaroo Has A Different Menu Based On Your Location

With a new menu everyday, Cookaroo keeps things simple, fresh and wallet-friendly when it comes to home delivered meals. That too in neat plastic boxes with compartments to prevent spillage.  

Taking on a very different format of sourcing food, Cookaroo partners with restaurants across the city to bring you the freshest food, in the shortest span of time. This means that if you’re in Central Bangalore, you’ll have a different set of options for your meal from those sitting in Whitefiled or Koramangala. The menu is divided into Value Meals and Specials. But you see, it all depends on whom they’ve tied up with. And currently, dear CBD snobs, you’re getting only curries with roti for basic meals and biryani as a special. Over at Whitefield though, in addition to Tandoori Roti and Dum Aloo,the specials include Fried Rice and Paneer Manchurian or Schezuan Noodles with Babycorn Manchurian. Specials in other zones range from Thyme Grilled Chicken and Creamy Pesto Pasta to Vegetable Stroganoff and Murg Methi.

But back in the CBD, we sampled Sofrani Rogan Josh, Subz Hyderabadi and Murgh Lababdar, all accompanied with four lovely chapattis. So, really, not a bad deal, but only desi khana. We greatly enjoyed the soft and succulent chicken, though it was actually a version of Chicken Tikka Masala. The Subz Hyderabadi, with beans, cauliflower, potato and peas, was a nice change from the usual paneer and the mutton in the Rogan Josh had beautifully soaked in the masalas. But had it not been for the soft, very homely chappatis they came with, we’re convinced things wouldn’t have tasted so good.

Vegetarians are very well looked after too. There’s a seperate Pure Veg section which offers North Indian and South Indian meals with various dishes like Chole, Beetroot Palya, Kulchas, Saagu Curd Rice and Dal making up the zonal combinations. We can’t wait to try out the international offerings though.

While it’s targetted at office-goers, the main dishes from the Indian section can be a tad heavy. Tasty, but high on oil, you’ll need a nap post this, so schedule your next meeting for at least an hour after lunch!
