Shortcut

Escape the city summer and travel back in time by staying at Country Tavern Ketti House in Ooty. An old-timey bungalow, this one has antique furniture, fireplaces and a lovely garden.

What Makes It Awesome

A merry little house in the midst of lush green landscapes, Country Tavern Ketti House in Ooty is a blast from the past. This colonial bungalow, almost two centuries old, has everything we love about life in the 19th and 20th century. With old-school fireplaces, bay windows, four-poster beds and antique decor, this is a charming change from our modern lives. There’s also a daily maid-service to pamper you while you’re putting up here. Centrally located, the bungalow is quite close to the Ooty Lake, and only a six-minute walk away from the Ooty Rose Garden (we sense romance in the air). Couples have plenty of picturesque backgrounds to canoodle in. But since this house can accommodate six people, it makes sense to make this trip a squad vacay or a fam jam. The house has a bonfire, a lavish garden and you can even explore the quaint Toda village nearby.

Like we said, up to six people can stay at Country Tavern Ketti House. They’ve got three bedrooms, all kept spic and span, with wardrobes, private bathrooms and all over stunning views of the mountains and gardens surrounding the property. The tariff for a night’s stay is INR 6,500, and split between six people, that comes up to around INR 1,090 per person. A pretty fair price to pay to travel back a couple of centuries, we think.

Pro-Tip

The bungalow is pet-friendly and has got plenty of space for your doggos to frolic in.
