Is there a ship bigger than the Ovation of the Seas in Asia? ‘Knot’ today! Standing 18 decks tall, 348m wide with a gross tonnage of 168,666 tonnes, this giant is no normal cruise.

One Hull Of A Cruise

One of the 25 ships under the Royal Caribbean cruises, Ovation of the Seas is part of the Quantum class. Built for luxury and entertainment, this behemoth is on its inaugural 52-night Global Odyssey cruise, with its ultimate destination being Tianjin in China, from where it will be setting off on various other cruises across Asia.

While we still don’t know when Daenerys will finally set sail for Westeros, I did get a chance to visit the ship at Kochi, its first port of call in Asia, and I really have no words to describe the experience. The cruise makes the Titanic look like a life raft in comparison, and that is just the tip of the iceberg {#sorrynotsorry}.

What makes the experience even better is the limitless options of on board fun one can indulge in here.

Seas The Day

The ship has 2091 staterooms, and if you’ve got one of your own in the interiors, you wouldn’t really have to worry about the view, as all of them have virtual balconies {along with large screens with real-time views}. A vitality spa, a solarium, a 22o ft outdoor poolside movie screen and a Seaplex {with bumper cars, a basketball court, and much more} are just some of the things you can enjoy here. If you’re an adrenaline junkie {I totally am}, you can indulge in rock climbing, a surf simulator, skydiving and the North Star observation capsule.

For foodies, the ship offers 18 different dining options catering to every palate, our favourites being Izumi, Chic, and Two70 degrees {with night-time aerial entertainment and an ice bar}.

So, We’re Thinking…

If you want to travel the world and yet not slug it out in long flights, this is for you. The cruise might be expensive, but is totally worth the money. We totally enjoyed the experience and would love to be anchored to this one again.
