According to a report by The Times Of India, the BBMP plans to create 71 kilometres of integrated cycle tracks and wider pavements around 19 of the city’s busiest Metro stations. So these include Byappanahalli, MG Road, Indiranagar, Mysore Road and more on the Purple Line. Then there is Yeshwantpur, Peenya, Jayanagar, Banashankari, JP Nagar and more on the Green Line. So that means the pavements get wider with cycle tracks {almost 2 metres wider!} and more space to walk. And these extend five to ten kilometres on each station.

The initiative is taken to increase use of the Metro and also to make it less polluted around, so that’s a win-win for you and the environment. There will be bollards installed so the only thing on those paths will be cycles and people and not bikes. These tracks are proposed to be completed and ought to be in use from March 2018.
