The Delhiwala's Kitchen: This place is one of the few places in Bengaluru that can actually boast of serving authentic North Indian food and rightly so. My parents have been regulars at the Coimbatore outlet and I was super excited when this restaurant opened a branch here. They are still in the nascent stages so go there to eat great food but please don't judge the plain ambience. That's still work in progress. They have a seating capacity of about 20 now. Try and dine in if possible as the food is best relished when it's piping hot.
The best part if they use fresh ingredients and desi ghee & good oil for the cooking which reflects in the taste.
What did I try:
1. Butter Milk - Very refreshing and with a hint of masala, this is the perfect way to either start or end your meal
2. Dahi Kabab - This was a delight. Loved the bread coating which perfectly balanced the subtle flavour of the hung curd. Capsicum provides the kick to the dish; overall a must-try
3. Rajma Chawal - This was mind-blowing; nice and spicy with a sprinkling of onions on top; Taste was bang on and took me back to my Delhi days; the best part is that they mix it and give it so no more messy tables trying to mix the Rajma and Chawal
4. Chilli Cheese Naan - Best had hot, this melted in my mouth. It was stuffed with the right amount of cheese and made for a perfect bread to accompany the paneer dish I ordered
5. Paneer Do Pyaza - Again a scrumptious dish, this was great in terms of taste and texture. Paneer was succulent.
6. Kadhi Chawal - They prepare this Marwari style kadhi which doesn't have onion in the pagoda; light on the stomach and a great eat; The flavours linger on even long after it's gone :)
7. Kheer - Rice cooked in milk for hours with a dash of saffron; this drool-worthy kheer is the perfect ending to your meal here
Hygiene - Perfect 5
Taste - Excellent
Value for Money - 5/5
Service - Quick
I am going to keep coming back. You should try it and I am sure you would thank me for recommending it.
Overall verdict - Highly reccomend
