The Middle East places emphasis on enjoying meals with family and friends.
Hence, the seating at Maraheb has both chairs and tables to suit us Indians and the traditional Middle-Eastern seating called the, MAJLIS
You have a private room inside the restaurant (this one has around 3-4) wherein you can sit on the mattress, close the curtains and have your special ones around eating together, in peace.
Food:
You will be greeted with an 'on the house' starter soup which is delish!
And 'Kahwa' (again, on the house and with unlimited servings) - This tea without milk will refresh you and have you falling in love.
P.S: You won't mind having this cold too.
From the Menu: Maraheb is famous for these:
1. Mandi: Has both chicken and mutton varieties and comes in Quarter/Half/Full sizes, This has flavoursome rice with a huge piece of chicken or mutton, perfectly cooked. The Mandi chicken is softer in texture and easy to chew as compared to the Madfoon. I LOVED THIS.
Priced economically, the quarter is perfect for a normal eater and the half should be more than sufficient for a heavy eater.
2. Madfoon: Chicken and Mutton: This has only two sizes Half or Full, the rice is beautifully prepared and the aroma will take you back to the gulf (in case you have been there before) - the pieces are more of barbeque styled (harder in texture) but tastes beautiful.
The servings approach applies the same as the Mandi for light and heavy eaters.
Personally,
I have tried both and I'd vouch for the Chicken or Mutton Mandi over Madfoon (both are great but bonus points only for the soft texture of chicken/mutton in the Mandi)
Served with Tomato Ka Salan and Pudina Chutney.
Desserts
Baklava: This one is a rich, sweet dessert pastry made of layers of filo dough filled with chopped nuts, sweetened and held together with syrup or honey.
A must try.
