A favourite with shoppers, there rarely is a time when this place isn't overflowing with people. While they offer a range of delicious chaats and breakfast dishes, we recommend you come by during lunch or dinner for bowls of their creamy mushroom soup paired with soft chunks of spiced up Chilli Paneer. Follow it up with any of their rich curries paired with flaky naans (their Garlic naan is a particular favourite) or kulchas. Finish on a (sugar) high note with their Sizzling Brownie that comes along with a scoop of ice cream.

Woody’s
When you need to fuel up so that you can continue to shop, this is the place you should be visiting. Nibble on crisped up masala vadas, golden-brown dosas, and fluffy idlis. The frothy filter coffee freshens you up and preps you for more retail therapy. While they do have a full-blown North Indian and Chinese menu here, we recommend sticking with the short eats.

Khan Saheb Grills and Rolls
Need to load up on meat while shopping ? Or if you just want something yum on the go as you make your way through the busy street, make a pitstop at Khan Saheb. At the stall, you’ll need to wait patiently on the footpath as they prepare your rolls. Their maida or whole-wheat wraps can be stuffed with malai tikkas, sheekh kebabs, kalimirch tikkas, or good old chicken tikka. Grab your roll and continue your shopping spree, we say!

If you are looking for a no-fuss meal that’s light on your pocket, then, swing by this busy darshini. Their limited menu includes idlis, dosas, and vadas. Looking for something more heavy duty? Then, order their meals. For just INR 60, you’ll get a banana leaf loaded with rice, roti, three types of vegetables, curries, rasam, and buttermilk. If you are around during the evenings, we recommend you wolf down their fried treats from their bajji stall upfront.

Known for their sandwiches and refreshing drinks, Cool Joint is perfect for a filling snack. Their Cheese Tomato, paneer and Vegetable Sandwiches come grilled and they are all winners. Pair these up with glasses of lassi or fruit juice and you’ll walk out happy and full.

Sagar Chats
Give your aching feet a rest at this pocket-friendly chaat place. You’ll be joined by groups of other shoppers who cram into small booths waiting for their plates of chaat, sandwiches, or fresh fruit juices. We must say that their chaat menu is pretty diverse and the sev batata puri, dahi papadi chaat, and dahi tikkis are all delicious. The highlight, however, is the pav bhaji, where you are served butter-smeared pav with a tangy bhaji.

Peppa Zzing
A short walk from Commercial Street, Peppa Zzing is for when you want to top off your retail therapy outing with a monster burger. Bhagathram Sweets
Shopping around Commercial Street can drain all the energy out of you and for that, we recommend this sweet shop for a quick sugar tonic. Their gulab jamun, soft and hot, just with the right amount of sugar syrup had us wanting more. You can pair this up with their aloo samosas or even their chaats for a refreshing respite from the heat and sweet. If you're on the lookout for something more ample, try their thalis for as low as INR 65.
