What Makes It Awesome
A bungalow on the hilltop. Who doesn’t enjoy the image that Ruskin Bond planted in our minds as children? The Estate House may not be set in a tea estate, or in Shimla, but a coffee estate in Chikmagalur, and is more our scene when it comes to road trip vacations from the city. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful vacation in, or one full of activities and travel, the home stay won’t disappoint.
Witness coffee blossoms in and around the 50 acre estate blooming in their snowy glory during the first rains of monsoon, or just the sight rolling hills, clouds, and showers through the monsoon with a hot cuppa. The end of monsoon brings the harvesting and processing season (so lots of coffee sampling!). Winters in the hills always sound like bonfires, snuggles with bae, and as always, hot coffee. Springs and summers with their longer days are great for hikes (or cycling trips) around the estate, barbecues with the fam and sightseeing trips to nearby locations whether you’re a history & culture buff, nature lover or temple hopper.
The homestay offers accommodation in the main bungalow and in cottages. Electricity, hot water, WiFi, are all available through the day at both. Prices obviously differ based on what you’re booking. It starts at INR 2,000 per head per night and goes up to INR 4,000. The price is inclusive of stay, 3 meals from a set menu as well as refreshments between meals. If you’re looking to bring a driver or help staff from home, it’s an additional INR 700. Oh and it’s pet friendly so your furry BFF won’t have to miss out on all the excitement and adventures!
