Fancy Chilli for Bags, Home Decor and Movie Posters

Bringing together all things quirky and kitschy from around the country, Fancy Chilli will make sure you don’t leave the place empty-handed.

Step into the doorway of Fancy Chilli and you’re greeted by the sight of colourful planters and watering cans, inviting you further in. Another step inside and you might feel like you’ve entered a different world, one filled with colours and spilling over with all sorts of delightful goodies, with the tinkling of windchimes in the background. Starting off by collecting trinkets from around the globe during her travels, Ekta Jain was inspired to take it forward and that’s how Fancy Chilli opened its doors, almost three years ago. Currently stocking over 60 brands from all over India, the store has an exciting melange of everything from bags and jewellery to home decor and even, posters. And, since they keep renewing their stock, you’ll always have something different to look forward to.

Notebooks with handmade paper and cloth covers, fridge magnets with fun quotes, jewellery {think metallic or beaded chains, earrings, chunky rings and bracelets}, rugs, cushions and showpieces find a place on their shelves. The collection of bags here include everything from pouches and clutches to sling bags and travel bags {all with desi prints and designs} and will definitely spoil you for choice. While there may not be much in terms of apparel, we spotted handmade Phulkari dupattas and stoles as well as an array of printed palazzos and skirts to pick from.

Much to our delight, they also have posters of popular Hindi movies like the Amitabh Bachchan-starrer, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar {1978} and another of yesteryear actor, Raj Kapoor’s golden jubilee films. Oh, and framed posters of B-town hits like Kashmir Ki Kali {1964}, canvas frames of Hollywood flicks {from Mel Gibson’s Braveheart to the popular rom-com, Notting Hill} and caricatures, too!
