Delhi restaurant Farzi Café, owned by Zorawar Kalra {restaurateur and offspring to the legendary Jiggs Kalra} will open next month in Bangalore. Expect molecular-gastronomy-meets-modern Indian cuisine.

What's In The Name?

The restaurant borrows its name from the Urdu word Farzi which among many other meanings, also refers to creating an illusion. And doing just that will be Farzi Cafe’s Modern Indian menu with plenty of theatrics, courtesy molecular gastronomy techniques.

Founder and managing director of Massive Restaurants {the company that owns the brand} Zorawar Kalra, is also the brains behind Mumbai’s Masala Library and Masala Bar {Progressive Indian Cuisine}, Delhi and Mumbai’s Made in Punjab {Punjabi cuisine}, and Pa Pa Ya, a modern Asian bistro and tapas bar located in Mumbai. Father Jiggs Kalra plays culinary friend, philosopher and guide to all of these restaurants.

A Menu With Plenty Of Drama

Chicken Tikka Masala served in a London-style red telephone booth {a homage to the curry’s British roots}, Dal Chawal Aranchini, Sarson ki Galawat, Spaghetti Shots {see Featured image}, and Hajmola Lollipops are some of the highlights of the Farzi menu.
