What Makes It Awesome

Tucked away inside Forum Rex Walk, Brigade Road, Mumbai's Foo is inviting with its Asian-inspired red decor, all-day dining vibes, and an inclusive Asian tapas-style menu that offers vegan, gluten-free, and Jain options as well. Spread across two floors including al fresco seating options, we like how the space works for those date nights as well as for weekday lunch stopovers after you've shopped your way through Brigade Road with your bestie.

The Asian tapas-style menu focuses largely on dim sum, sushi, and small plates — all of which are what we love when we are catching up with our friends and need a steady flow of good food and drinks to keep the energy at its peak. We started with the Foo Pork Dumplings and Sriracha Chicken Dumplings that were paired with a Yuzu Negroni and a sober Thai Lemonade. The pork dumplings packed a lot of flavour but it's the nice little kick of sriracha that made us pick the chicken dumplings over the other. The Yuzu Negroni was a not-too-sweet citrusy drink that went with the spice. The lemonade was refreshing as advertised and we do like our sober drinks to be low on sugar and this was that.

The Spicy Hamachi Maki was finished in no time and we are glad that we had space for the Foo Chilli Chicken. Juicy and spicy, it's one of those small plates that we know we'll go back for. The Hakka Belgium Pork Belly gets our nod as well and we have our eye on the Spare Ribs in Hot Sauce for our next visit.

We were too full for mains or desserts, but we were recommended the Foo Blue Butter Fried Rice and Textures Of Chocolate with Smoked Maldon Salt Ice Cream on our next visit.
