The sleepy little village Anegundi {across the Tungabhadra river} near Hampi is home to the Kishkinda Trust. An organisation run by women to provide employment to local folks. They use dried banana leaves and other eco-friendly material to make beautiful home decor products and accessories. The women in the workshop weave runners and table mats in the traditional looms. There's a workshop where weaving is also done by hand to make floor mats, handbags, totes, cushion covers, coasters, planters, bead jewellery, and lots more. Get the real experience by visiting this workshop and picking stuff right from where it's made.
You can reach Anegundi either by taking a boat from Hampi or hire an auto autorickshaw or a cab. It's about approximately 10 km from Kamlapura. While you are there, make sure you visit the Anegundi fort and the Gagan Palace and soak in the beauty of these ruins.
