After nearly three years of being dreamed up, Sanjana Madappa finally teamed up with Juhi Sheth and Melissa Marak, to create the Second Chance Sanctuary. The trio makes up the Board Of Trustee of Bangalore's newest charitable trust that works for the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of any dog in need. All three are hugely passionate and fierce warriors who only want to help animals in distress, it seems only natural for them to unite. Yes, yes, we know... Sanjana is a veteran at this, and we all love her for it, but 3X her passion, and WOOF, we have a winner! Second Chance Sanctuary is going to be bigger, brighter and cuddlier than anything before. Why? Well, for starters, the three have decided that it is slowly going to expand to other animals and not just dogs. "Of course, we love dogs, but we also know there are other animals in need. We already have experts in feline and equine care, but of course, we're looking to expand on that too," says Juhi.
While currently Second Chance Sanctuary is more about rescuing, rehabilitating, and fostering, the aim is bigger. The main goal is to sensitise citizens of their rights when it comes to domesticated animals, to get corporates and resident associations to be more involved in fostering, understanding the laws, creating awareness about ethical and illegal breeding and to most importantly, in educating folks about how to co-exist with these little bundles of paws and wagging tails. Or furry ones, if we're talking cats! Oh, also, in the long term, Bangalore folks, you can start getting excited for a new shelter for animals in the next few years.
