It’s that time of the year when everyone’s busy picking and choosing the best Diwali gifts to present to the fam, BFFs, and colleagues. While the nuts and dry fruits hampers are a staple (we got about five of those already!), this year we are telling you and ourselves – no more nuts! Instead, we present to you a list of creative (and quirky if we must) gifts that make the perfect Diwali presents. You can even add them to a larger hamper if you’re going all out with no budget constraints! You’re welcome, and we’re happy to accept any size of hamper as a thank you.

The Body Shop

OK, they’re not the most Diwali-oriented presents but who doesn’t love some Body Shop merch! You can pick up re-packed gifts in fragrances and ingredients such as British Rose and Almond Milk to Argan and Moringa. In fact, we think for this festival, stick to the most local floral ones. The gift boxes include lotion, perfume, bath gel and plenty more depending on the price you want to pay. Or just customise your boxes based on budget.

Prices: INR 1,500 upwards for pre-boxed gifts

The Fizzy Goblet

Add sparkle to you home and deskspace with Fizzy Goblet’s range of fairy lights. Crafted from leftover fabric, embroidery and material used to make Fizzy Goblet’s striking juttis, these cutesy lights had parrots, tassles and of course, little lights, to give you that ethnic edge. Of course, we’re always up for recycling and upcycling so yaaay! The lights come with every box of shoes, so go on, splurge on your BFF.

Price: INR 2,450

Mason & Co.

Intense dark, bittersweet dark chocolate, crunchy peanut butter or zesty orange. Mason & Co is spoiling you and your close ones with intriguing chocolate bars that are vegan and organic. They’re packing their best 6 and you can buy them in bulk all neatly packed. They also have single bars, which you can pair with tea, nibs and powder for a chocolately hamper.

Prices: INR 960 for 6

Origin One

Perfect for that fussy stationery fiend, Origin One has so much on offer, you’ll be spoiled for choice. In fact, you’ll want most of the stuff for yourself too. Start with the box of A5 notebooks, mini passport-sized notebook, a gift envelope, memoblocks, postal stickers, a bookmark and a baggage tag that is just INR 1,000. But if you’re going all out, there are gift boxes which include paperweights, envelopes, pencils, weekly planners and even coasters.

San-Cha Tea

Not your usual Diwali gift, neutralise the mithai and overeating with some soothing tea from Sancha. The Time For Tea gift box has four tea boxes plus an infuser. This means you can be sipping on a floral Darjeeling tea, a full-bodied English Breakfast tea, a citrusy Earl Grey and an aromatic Irish Breakfast Tea, at different times of the day. We're planning to give out the Jaipur Selection this year as it's got a hint of Indianness to it with yellow and blue packaging. Perfect to festivities!

Kama Ayurveda

Kama always makes it easy, albeit a bit expensive, to go Diwali gifting. This year, the Umang box filled with select soaps (roase, haldi, tulsi and khus) also comes with a brass soap holder for some old world charm. Priced at INR 1,795 it's a sophisticated option. Or mix and match with single soaps that start at INR 525. The pure Ayurvedic soap box (INR 750) with three bars is another option to keep your budget in check. We also like their Ujjwal hamper that curates three candles whose fragrances reflect Madhurai, Jaipur and Kolkata.
