What Makes It Awesome

Food has a never failing, innate ability to make every being happy. With local social enterprise, Good Measure, this joy is amplified let's say, in good measure! Because here, you not only get to treat yourself to delicious food, you also get to support and employ economically disadvantaged women.

It was almost like the light went off when Trained Educator, Madhu was looking to put her previously owned kitchen equipment to good use. Why not champion food for social good she thought and so began Good Measure. This social enterprise based out of HSR Layout, is at its core a training and production kitchen that works with women candidates who have lost jobs, or are victims of gender based violence, poverty and abuse. Here they are skilled and trained for three months in the basics of baking, financial literacy, emotional well-being, spoken English and other soft skills.

These ladies work with chefs in the kitchen to help make us delicious baked treats -- from cookies to cakes and dips, sauces to condiments. After helping with food preparation in the morning, they are trained in other areas post lunch. They are also given a stipend.

Madhu shares that the 30-dish menu is designed to support love for cooking by taking away the effort that goes into foods like lavash, fresh breads, or a masala biscuit, mawa cake or almond cranberry biscotti. There's a ready-to-use tomato or cashew gravy, burnt garlic seasoning and pasta sauces too, all free of processing and preservatives. Priced between INR 50 to INR 295, all proceeds from the sale of these foods go into supporting the initiative. Yay, economic independence!

You can WhatsApp or DM Good Measure to pre-order (order on the day and it shall be delivered the next evening) since these dishes are freshly made. The prices are exclusive of delivery.
