Ten-second takeaway

A day-long flea market with food, shopping and activities, all for the bigger cause of maintaining a public park in Cooke Town.

Flea on your mind

At the third edition of the Hand-in-Hand Flea Market, there will be clothes, jewellery and home decor to buy, bakes and sweet treats to eat and plenty of workshops and activities to keep the little 'uns entertained through and through. Expect antique and vintage-esque jewellery from The Jewellery Store, stained glass home decor from George Vergis under the label Eden, handwoven cotton bags and pouches from Seema, an NGO that works with women, hair accessories from Kimberly and Friends, and more.

Cooke Town resident Juliet Colaco's minced meat cutlets, savoury and sweet tarts and pies from Raki, cupcakes from The Sugar Fairy, cookies and macaroons from Buttercup Bakery and Indian-themed chocolates from Cocoa Mantra will be up for sale too. All stalls will be put by the residents of the area. Among other fun activities, tiny tots can participate in the Little Naturalists workshop where participants will be taught how to observe and document nature in their own little journals. The proceeds from the flea market will go towards maintenance of the neighbourhood park.
