Italian cuisine has always been a favourite with me because of its variety and subtle flavours. One of my favourite restaurants, Avista Wine, Bar & Pizzeria offers great Italian food. I ended up there this weekend for lunch. The ambience is pleasing and they have used pastel colours to give the place a nice feel.
All the hygiene, sanitization and safety measures were in place. They have cutlery placed in a brown bag along with a napkin and disposable menu. Tables are placed quite some distance apart keeping in mind the social distancing norms.
Coming to the food, I tried the following:
1. Silky Mushroom & Cream Soup – True to its name, this soup has a silky texture and amazing consistency. It was delicious.
2. Mushroom Aglio Olio – Love the combination of mushrooms with sundried tomatoes tossed together with garlic and olive oil. It is tasty and feels light
3. Vegetable Arancini – These cheesy rice balls are perfect in terms of flavor, consistency and texture.
4. Bruschetta Pomodoro – Love this dish as it has the goodness of tomatoes and cheese
5. Italian Farmhouse Pizza – Just the way I like my pizza, thin crust, less cheese and lots of veggies. A perfect pizza in every sense
6. Peri-Peri Paneer burger – This looks and tastes great. Paneer in peri sauce is always a great choice. They serve crispy fries with it.
To satiate my sweet tooth cravings, I tried the mango pannacotta and chocolate fudge brownie. I would recommend the brownie.
Among drinks, I tried the Mint Magic which is a refreshing summer drink.
Overall, must-visit as it provides bang for the buck !!!
They also have a bakery section. I bought some freshly baked rusk and burger buns from them. They were really good.
Also the best part is they have a lucky dip and I won a free pizza for my next dine-in. So head there and get lucky.
