What Makes It Awesome?

A trip to Coimbatore is never complete without a glimpse of spiritual touch. And the Adiyogi statue installed about 32 km from the city railway station stands as a testimonial to the spiritual power that holds yoga and meditation.

The Adiyogi statue is a 34.3-metre-tall {112.4 ft} statue excluding the plinth. A 45-metre-long {147 ft} and 7.62-metre-wide {24.99 ft} statue of the Hindu deity, Lord Shiva, has been recognised by the Guinness World Records as the 'Largest Bust Structure'.

This {Adiyogi statue} is a part of the Isha Foundation complex which also houses the Dhyanalingam where meditation is at its peak, and silence and peace are nurtured. Isha Foundation is set up at Velliangiri foothills amidst lush greenery.

The complex also has 2 special spiritual bath setups for men and women. The food is available at nominal prices here, but they only serve vegetarian food.

Free introductory meditation and yoga classes are held throughout the day.

Note: They don't allow any mobile phones and/or cameras inside the campus. Only Adiyogi statue can be photographed as it's outside the campus.
