In a bid to preserve and promote local Indian artforms by means of home decor, Vartika and Vishal started Viskaa Store. With close to 13 Indian artforms represented in their range, Viskaa sells decor products including lamps, mugs, diffusers and planters that are indigenously designed by hand. The brand’s raw materials are sourced from around India by local artisans and each design is carved and imprinted by hand, and each product is made to order!
If you had the chills for Tormund Giantsbane (wildlings in general) from Game of Thrones, check out the brand’s horn mugs. Made from Buffalo or Ox horns (sourced ethically we’re told) are reshaped and shined to make these large elegant cups that will leave you in your favourite GoT setting. Coming back to India, the brand’s Jaipuri Blue Pottery is another hit that includes clay mugs, diffusers and kettles adorned with phulkari and anarkali prints. Hand-painted clay is heated in a furnace (bhatti) to acquire a hard, lustrous texture and after the final touchings, the vibrant hues of blue along with the prints will work magic in your home.
Viskaa Store also sells Coconut mugs, perfect for those signature cocktails, glasses for them martinis and even ice cream bowls. These are all durable, polished with coconut oil for a matte finish. For the antique hoarder, their dhokra brass sculptures are beautiful. Their mahogany wood lamps are perfect as an heirloom -- the wood stand gets darker with time.
