In this new normal, where cloud kitchens and home kitchens are being set up and commercialised, this place Manjula's Kitchen in Basaveshwarnagar is still old school, serves tasty delicacies in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian versions. Why am I speaking about something normal which already is existing? Here are the speciality and a catch. Home food with no tasting powder, additional sauces and a no non-sense meals which are absolutely tasty.
The tale of Manjula's kitchen started when the cook Ms Manujula's kid's friends who were staying in Paying Guest accommodations and were tired of the food there which was a bit not tasty and bland.
Our cook is very enthusiastic about cooking and serving meals to people slowly started gaining a huge fanbase in and around the locality among people where even today people have regular subscriptions to her meals. The key factor is tasty food being served in home style, at affordable prices.
After hearing very good reviews about this place, both vegetarian and non-veg food, I requested for a wholesome chicken meal and I got it. Who does not love chicken kebabs, these are delicious, not too oily, perfectly made in a subtle spice, yes as you get these at your house. Then came the Pepper chicken, chicken well marinated with pepper and finally tossed on the Tawa which had just ine green chilli and yes, since the marination was perfect, pepper was soaked into the chicken well, the chicken was again soft and tender. Chicken Manchurian is again a best seller for them, where boneless chicken is used and here you have a Chinese preparation and of course every child loved it.
For main course, we had the super fantastic ghee rice where the recipe for it was originated from Vellore of Tamil Nadu. Perfect ghee rice with not much abundance of ghee, but in the right proportion and you have bolied peas, which are a game-changer with the Jeera infusion. This is very well paired with a Chettinad style chicken curry. Again, the Chettinad stly curry was amazing, perfect amount of the Chettinad masala in the marinated chicken, wholesome gravy and a fantastic subtle spice, but high on flavour. They have dessert options too like Laddos and Shavige payasa.
The best part after the meal is rasam. This rasam is definitely out of the world, tamarind galore and a perfect sizzling hot tadka, this is fantastic., ambrosia if not being over-exaggerated. Manjula's Kitchen is now on the online delivery platform.
