Based on a comic book by the same name, there’s post-apocalyptic horror, zombies, (live human conflict thanks to inherently human horrors), and...a pathogen that mutates! The series focuses on how different communities survive and struggle in a world with zombies. So it’s the live versus the undead, in a world where everyone has the potential to become the latter. It hits close to home when faulty human behaviour only messes up their community’s chance at survival? Why is it scary? Because you always know that getting bitten is right around the corner and it’s a matter of when not if.

We were still marvelling at (or should we say recovering from the effects of) Hill House when Netflix decided to hit us with its follow up, The Haunting Of Bly Manor bang at the start of spooky month. But hey, we ain't complaining, it's the perfect build up to Halloween! By now we know that Mike Flanagan's 'Haunting Of' series leads us to haunted houses that psychologically unnerves not only its residents but audience too -- only this time at Bly Manor more ghosts await us! The two stories are not connected but we do spot overlapping characters in Victoria Pedretti, Henry Thomas, and our personal favourite, Kate Siegel of the Hush fame. Oh did we also mention there's a handsome Indian boy on the cast? Go watch, there are some classic scares in this one as opposed to its predecessor.

Three seasons, nearly 30 episodes, and man what an adventure it has been living the half-witch and half-human life vicariously through Sabrina! Aside from being fun (it's based on Archie's comic book series of the same name) coming-of-age fictional series, it's dark, it's impactful horror and it's sprinkled with a good measure of teenage witchcraft. Sabrina is almost superwoman-esque fighting the evil forces that threaten her family while dealing with enough plot twists and college assignments (yes she leads the most and exciting and exhausting dual life). The final season is set to premiere on 31 December 2020 and we cannot wait. If you haven't begun and enjoy a light horror, just binge-watch, we say and you'll make it right in time for the finale.

When horror is combined with comedy, magic happens and that’s exactly what Ash Vs Evil Dead brings to life. If you are not a big fan of horror movies but still want to enjoy the Halloween spirit, then our pick to binge watch is Ash Vs Evil Dead. Being a part of the adventures of the Evil Dead horror movie franchise, this series is all about OTT violence and gore. The series is about how the protagonist - Ashley "Ash" Williams, a 57-year-old guy, tries to charm a bar pickup by reciting "poetry," which is, naturally, the Necronomicon Ex Mortis and goes terribly wrong. Now Ashely with his co-workers needs to hit the road and fight zombies to save the world. It is funny, gripping and all that you need to spend the Halloween night curled up in your bed (maybe with something more comforting to save you from the chills).
