What Makes It Awesome

Bangalore is certainly getting cooler with easy access to tourist hotspots. Just last month, SpiceJet brought Pondicherry close to us with their 45-minute flights, and now TruJet is taking to straight to Hampi. OK, maybe not straight into the marvellous ruins and historical sites that Hampi is known for, but to Vidyanagar (Bellary), which is just an hour away from Hampi. Before you start grumbling that it’s not exactly in the centre of the tourist zone, let us remind you that the journey by car would take a good seven hours if the roads are perfect, and the train takes over 10 hours. So, ready to take flight? Yes, us too. Oh, and the best part? Prices for the tickets start at INR 799 for one way, with return tickets costing under INR 2,000, if you book in advance.

Operating daily, the TruJet flight leaves Bangalore at 3.55 PM landing in the historic township at 4.55 PM, and it leaves Vidyanagar at 2.35 PM, getting into the Kempegowda International Airport at 3.55 PM. Perfect to take a day or two off from work, sandwich the weekend in the middle, and get a nice four-day weekend of chill vibes, coracle rides and maybe history hikes when in Hampi. We’ll set you on your way with things to do while in Hampi, and if you’re the adventurous kind, then we know just where you can go bouldering and cliff jumping. Need cheap digs, stay at this cute hostel or this heritage one.
