Winning For
The rooftop dining that relaxes you and lets you enjoy the salubrious Bangalore weather and the evening sky. And of course, the menu that’s easy on the pocket.
Lowdown On The Ambience
Minimally done, the white non-fussy decor of the cafe instantly calms you down. With a downstair and upstair seating, it’s the rooftop dining area that easily wins it for us. Plenty of space and quite, there’s often that warm Bangalore breeze that relaxes you. And if you are hitting the hookah, boom, you’re in right spot. There are a couple of boards games and a TV in the cafe, so there’s plenty to do if you are hanging out after work or college.
Main Menu
The menu is North Indian and Chindian, and as with most of the cafes these days, The 19th Main Cafe has played is safe with options. While the North Indian fare focuses on mains, you get some starters in the Chinese section. Since we were in no mood for Paneer Lababdaar, Murgh Makhanwala, and the likes, we settled for Honey Sesame Chicken, Chilly Babycorn, and Chilly Butter Garlic Noodles off the Chinese section. And thankfully our choices for the evening were all spot on. A special shout out goes to the rather saucy and juicy honey sesame chicken. The noodles were bang on, on the buttery and garlic flavours too.
Hookah Bar
The options here are aplenty with everything from paan flavour to the in-house 19th Main Special that is a concoction of all the flavours available {let’s call it the rainbow flavour, shall we?}. Apart from the regular ice base, they do a fancy Red Bull base which gives the hookah a rather caffeinated flavour.
So, We Are Thinking...
Recently the place has undergone renovation, with the rooftop section and porch area redone for more space and fun. We’ll be definitely going back for that.
