Located on the popular 100 feet, Taiki quaint little restaurant specializes in authentic Pan Asian cuisine.
Decor:
The restaurant has utilized it's space to the T. Even though the place is small it doesn't look cramped on a bit. The glass wall on one end of it just gives the place a beautiful illusion of being spacious than it actually is. The seating arrangement comprises of a mix of high tables and regular ones.
Food & Beverages:
For starters we ordered
•Uramaki Tempura roll: Deep-fried roll served with mayo and chilli sauce. It was crispy and the combination with the dips worked well together.
• Tuna Nigiri: It's classic sushi with vinegared rice and topping. Now for someone who hasn't tried tuna before, I was told it could be hit or miss. Honestly, though I quite liked it. The generous portion of tuna on the rice when dipped in the dip and adding a tinge of wasabi tastes like an explosion of flavours.
• Sambal shrimp Bao & Aubergine Sweet Chilli Bao: These are basically two fluffy baos with specified fillings and served with dips. They come in twos. I liked the soft texture of the baos along with the generously served stuffing.
•Nam phrik Chicken: this is a spicy Thai dish with chillies, shallots and lime juice. Really enjoyed the flavours.
•Chicken coriander and sesame oil Gyoza: Gyoza is basically dumplings either steamed or pan-fried. We ordered both kinds and they were delicious.
Main course:
•Ramen Chicken Bowl: This is fresh ramen noodles in broth with veggies. We tried the chicken bowl and it was delicious and quite authentic.
•Laksa Chicken: It's basically rice noodles in coconut curry stew. The presentation was great but I'm particularly fond of the coconut undertone even though that's the authentic form.
• Basil Chicken Fried Rice: Sufficient in quantity and tasted pretty good.
In dessert, we had mango Bingsu and vanilla ice cream with chocolate noodles. Loved them both especially Bingsu which was something I tried for the first time.
Service was great too. The staff made us feel comfortable and the service was prompt. All in all a great dining experience. :)
