While trudging down Commercial Street like we often do, we came across this seemingly normal looking kitchenware and furniture store called Izzy Home Essentials. We walked in, only to find a bunch of treasures hidden in plain sight. From wooden yoga chairs that’ll have your posture in check to marble mortar and pestles and wooden casseroles, this place packs in quite a lot.
Think of them as an export surplus store for furniture and kitchenware -- which means you can score some awesome finds here from imported brands too. We nosed around a bit more and found a few furniture pieces that reminded us of the Ikea aesthetic. These include a bunch of minimalistic chairs and armchairs, which can be easily converted into something of a statement piece with interesting upholstery. Their other furniture is also pretty classy and made in India, like the hardy wooden chairs and the nifty upholstered stools. The prices for their furniture start at around INR 3,000.
Primarily a kitchenware store, this place stocks up on cutlery, plate holders, pots and pans, spice racks and other kitchen tools that’ll make time in the kitchen that much easier. Most of this stuff is imported and they’ll sort you out with great deals on their merch. With prices starting at just INR 100 for their smaller offerings like their napkin holders and metal racks, you can really go all out here without breaking your budget. And you’ll also find water bottles, wooden trays, microwavable bowls and cutlery sets and holders here too.
