The Japanese brand known for its funky stationery and beautifully designed accessories, is opening in Bangalore finally on Friday, September 9. An already, ongoing exhibition at VR Bengaluru celebrates the joys of living the Muji life.

In The House

Known for their minimalist aesthetic and no-brand strategy {Gasp! They don’t advertise or tom-tom their products. Only word-of-mouth you see}, Japanese retail brand Muji is all set to open in Bangalore in partnership with Reliance Brands. The brand is popular for its gorgeous stationery line, household products, quirky snacks {though unfortunately it won’t be available in India}, clothing, and kitchen and dining. Of special interest would be Muji’s Craft and Games section that deals with DIY and origami, among other things.

Exhibition Day

VR Bengaluru is also playing host to an exhibition currently set up by the Muji folks, which is showcasing some of the brand’s really simple but cleverly designed products. Expect CD players that can be attached to walls and played with pull of a string, beautiful planners made out of recycled paper, comfortable and spacious bean bags, and Muji’s iconic Toning Water drawn from a natural water source in a cave in Kamaishi-Shi, Iwate prefecture, among others.

Where: VR Bengaluru, Mahadevpura, Whitefield Road

When: Muji will launch on Friday, September 9, 10am. The exhibition will be on till October 3.
