Jeeves In Town

Whether it's the situations Bertie Wooster often finds himself in or how Jeeves manages to save the day almost always, nothing quite beats PG Wodehouse's Jeeves series when it comes to a humour. Paying tribute to the author and bringing the popular characters onstage is Jeeves & Wooster in Perfect Nonsense, a production by London's West End. Coming to town for the first time {with seven shows!}, the play is originally directed by British theatreperson, Sean Foley. Written by the Goodale brothers {Robert and David}, the play features UK actors Matthew Carter in the role of Bertie while Joseph Chance takes on the gentleman Jeeves.

Right Ho!

Based on the novel, The Code of the Woosters, what makes the play more enjoyable is that it stays true to Wodehouse's style of writing, from the narration by Bertie to the use of silliness and witty metaphors. Revolving around the duo's weekend trip to the countryside, the play sees Bertie involved in all sorts of hilarious situations, from playing matchmaker to stealing a cow creamer! And, coming to his rescue {as always} is the dependable Jeeves with his subtle brilliance. Add in the great acting and writing, and you have a comedy to keep you in splits throughout the evening. See you there!
