What Is It?
Organised by Bengaluru by Foot, a group of people who help residents and visitors discover Bangalore through curated walks, Once Upon A Time In Johnson Market is a tour through Johnson Market and its surrounding areas. It’s a fine opportunity to learn about this British-era market and its Persian and Shia connections, while visiting all the great heritage spots in the area.
Who Is It For?
This tour seems like a really cool idea for anyone, really. But if you’re a local history buff or if you just enjoy showing off to your friends with random trivia, then mark your calendars! It’s also a great chance for all the Bangaloreans who want to know a little more about the city than what’s found on Google.
Why Should I Go For It?
You have to admit, an early morning walk through these lanes while learning about its history is a pretty hatke way to spend a Saturday morning. We’re mostly looking forward to visiting the old bakeries, sipping some Sulaimani chai and trying out the local delicacies. The exercise and culture fix is definitely going to keep us on a nostalgic high on the last day of the year!
