The end of November marks many things, including the Kadlekai Parishe. In preparation of the next farming season, the peanuts sown to enrich the soil are sold (yes, we are aware of the folklore behind the fair as well) at Bull Temple Road in Basavanagudi. It’s pretty easy to spot with the mounds of peanuts being sold on the ground. Sold relatively cheaper than at retail stores, most peanuts are sold in their shells. You’ll also find a horde of stalls and hawkers selling boiled, and roasted peanuts (perfect for our current weather). The market, over time, has also come to have stalls selling bangles, locally made toys, trinkets and street snacks and beverages.

What's Happening
How's The Venue
The market takes place by the Dodda Basavana (or Ganapathy) Gudi on Bull Temple Road near the Bugle Rock Park.
Make A Note
This time, people are setting up their stalls pretty early (starting from November 23), so if you drop by at Basavanagudi, you might just get to enjoy the peanut festival minus the crowd!
