Bangalore’s obsession with rooftop spots only gets bigger and better with every new space that opens up. Just over a few months old, Kai Bar & Kitchen takes this obsession to new heights by offering diners a panoramic view of the CBD and Army Cantonment area. All while you are dressed to kill, sipping potent cocktails, and eating your way through a well-curated global fare.
Head To Kai Bar & Kitchen For A Global Menu & Stunning Panoramic Views
A View (And A Space) To Kill
Kai Bar & Kitchen is located on the 13th floor of Du Parc Trinity, just opposite the Holy Trinity Church at Trinity Circle. In the unassuming building, Kai stands out with its chic interiors and the aforementioned views. Split across two levels, the lower floor features a number of spaces with their own distinct personalities. The central bar boasts a peacock-feather-inspired maroon and copper ceiling, making it an ideal backdrop for romantic cocktail dates. There’s also a live sushi bar where diners can enjoy fresh cuts of sashimi and hand-rolled sushi prepared by the chef. A winding staircase leads to the terrace seating, where the stunning views come into full view. We spent a bit here looking at Trinity Circle, Ulsoor, and the Army area, all bustling with life and energy. If you ever wanted to do a rooftop party, then this is the spot. There’s a bar set up too, so tipple the night away.
Global Is The Flavour
The menu is global, which makes sense for a space that can see a varied set of diners come in. On our preview night, we had couples on dates, a family of six, and girl gangs, so pleasing this dynamic set of diners is easy only when you’ve something for everyone. Since we were here on a worknight, we wanted to have an early dinner and scoot. We ordered Char Sui Pork, Paneer Khurchan Filo Tarts, Sous Vide Ghee Roast Chicken, and Broccoli & Water Chestnut Dumplings. We skipped on the mains and substantial eats because these were pretty satisfying.
The char sui pork and the ghee roast chicken gets our thumbs up for the night in how Asian flavours and the Manglorean flavours didn’t feel out of place. The paneer tarts were flaky and crumbly, and had us almost go for seconds. We paired our meal with Togarashi Twist and Korai, the latter is a cocktail with lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and matcha syrup. The sober Togarashi Twist is such bright and spicy drink that paired well with the food.
Final Thoughts
We definitely want to go back for the views and to try more from the menu, because the space is great for that, and there’s that feeling that there are corners and spaces to explore.
